The ferry port is a short walk from Butterworth Railway Station. There are signs showing the way so it is easy to find. Ferry services to Georgetown in Penang every 20 to 30 minutes from 05.20 to 10.00. The adult one way fare is 1.20 RM and for children it is 0.6 RM. The crossing takes about 15 minutes. Alternatively, if you arrive late in the evening or you have lots of luggage then take a taxi. Travelling via the closest bridge (the Penang Bridge) you can reach Georgetown is around 27 minutes (a journey of 24.6 km to the Komtar Tower). Agree the price with the taxi driver in advance and expect to pay 50 to 60 RM.
